Bioprocess Seminar featuring SFR vario

Experts in bioprocess development from the Technical University of Vienna and Exputec GmbH organized the free seminar on "Bioprocess data analytics & data management" on July 25 in Boston, MA. The SFR vario was used in the workshop to demonstrate how multi-parameter data collected with the reader can be used for bioprocess optimization.

Starting with monitoring and raw data evaluation, Christoph Herwig, full professor in biochemical engineering at the TU Vienna and guest professor at the MIT, and Daniel Borchert from Exputec instructed the participants on all different stages in process data analysis and management workflows, up to comparability studies and how to contextualize data sources of different origin. The 30 seminar attendees were not just there to listen, they performed analysis exercises with the web-based educational software tool inCyght® by Exputec.

The workshop also showed the use of the SFR vario as it is the perfect example on how to collect and visualize multi-parameter data in small-scale bioprocesses and use the gathered information for optimization and scale-up.
