High Mechanical Stability Thanks to Plastic Fibre

March 6, 2025

University research including pH measurements as needed for measurements in tumor research animal or plant tissue, or profiling sediments or biofilms, ask for reliable and stable equipment. The new generation of pH microsensors by PreSens, combined with the new pH-1 ST meter, meet these requirements.

The strong combination of low (pH 4.0 – 7.0) or high (pH 6.0 – 9.0) needle-type, profiling or implantable pH microsensors and the pH-1 ST are perfectly suited for research tasks. The pH-1 ST device is particularly handy and with only 296 g extremely lightweight. The device is controlled with the PreSens Measurement Studio PMS2 or the PreSens Profiling Studio.

The new generation of pH microsensors completely eliminates glass as it is built with plastic fibre, which makes them robust. Since no pH reference electrode is required, this absence of any metal in the new versions of the microsensors now also enables nuclear spin measurements. Combined with either the manual (MM) or automated micromanipulator (AM), the pH microsensors offer researchers safe insert into the material of interest and µm reading accuracy.
