PreSens' Featured OEM Components For pH Monitoring in Cell Culture Bags

Electro-Optical Module EOM-pH-PHB50

The EOM-pH-PHB50 is a precise, single channel module for non-invasive pH measurement. It is compatible with sensor types HP5 & HP8 (pH 5.5 – 8.5). The small outer dimensions and low power consumption make it very easy to integrate this board in custom monitoring and control systems. EOM-pH-PHB50 uses RS232, RS485 or USB 2.0 as digital interface. A serial communication protocol is offered for data exchange between a PC or another host unit and the EOM. Additionally, the device has 4 to 20 mA analog output and a Pt100 temperature sensor interface for temperature compensation of the pH measurements.

pH Nice Port

This port with integrated sensor is for customized application in bioreactors or containers like storage and mixing bags. It is designed mainly for cell culture but can also be used for monitoring microbial fermentation. The port is made of polyethylene which allows easy welding with the bags. A color-coded polymer optical fiber is attached to the port from the outside to read out the sensor. The pH Nice Port enables contactless measurements in culture bags, so there is no risk of contamination.

Polymer Optical Fiber POF

A polymer optical fiber (POF) is needed to transfer excitation light to the sensor and the sensor response back to the meter. We offer different versions for different meters depending on their optical connector type. A POF enables non-invasive and non-destructive measurements to be made from the outside through the wall of a transparent or slightly colored container. The POF with SMA connector is compatible with meters of the Fibox, OXY-1 SMA, OXY-1 WM,OXY mini and pH mini series, as well as the pCO2 mini. The POF with ST connector is compatible with meters of the Microx 4 and OXY-1 ST series. Different standard lengths are offered, e. g. 2.5 m, and fibers with connectors on one or both ends are available, depending on your adapter or sensor application.
