MdB Stefan Schmidt visits PreSens

June 21, 2018

The “25th Innovation Day of German Medium-sized Companies” in Berlin on June 7th, 2018 was a perfect platform for PreSens to present one of its latest product development projects – a monitoring tool with high parallelization – and this not only to specialists but also to interested politicians like Stefan Schmidt, Member of the German Parliament (Deutscher Bundestag), and to a broad public.

About 1.800 visitors in sunny Berlin took the opportunity to visit the booths of 300 companies showing their novelties and developments at this innovation day, initiated by the German Ministry of Economy. PreSens was one of three partners from the network “SmartLab” and presented first results on its way to a functionalized microtiter plate with miniaturized read-out system for online biomass monitoring. “SmartLab” is a network supported by the German Ministry of Economy with the aim to develop and standardize innovative laboratory technologies and applications. This will simplify processes and improve quality while at the same time efficiency and process reliability will increase. And PreSens fits perfectly in this group of companies and research institutes.

The interest in this innovative development project was strong and this way Dr. Gernot John, Director Marketing & Innovation” at PreSens, had the chance to explain it to Stefan Schmidt, member of the Bundestag. Living in Bavaria, he was impressed that a company from Regensburg will simplify with its measuring devices the production of vaccines, highly effective anticancer drugs or vitamins, which are increasingly being carried out by microorganisms.

To sum up, the Innovation Day in Berlin was a chance to make new contacts and to find new business opportunities.
