Single-Use Optical Sensor Sticks for Luer Connectors

Luer Lock adapters are equipped with miniaturized optical sensors and can easily be installed in customer specific flow-through cells or experimental set-ups via Luer connector. With a polymer optical fiber, the sensor sticks are connected to small OEM boards (stand-alone devices are also offered), which can be integrated in the customers’ control and monitoring units, and non-invasive measurements can be performed.
The sensor sticks for oxygen, pH or pCO₂ monitoring are packed in irradiated squeeze bags filled with physiological saline solution, so the sensors are pre-conditioned and ready for measurements. The separate sensor components allow for the decoupling of sensor shelf life from the shelf life of pre-sterilized single-use bioreactors, facilitating supply chain of these components. Furthermore, the sensors can be safely installed under Laminar flow before they are connected to the measurement unit.
