Miniaturized Oxygen Sensor Integrated in a Flow-Through Cell

Autoclavable O2 Flow-Through Cell FTC-PSt3-YAU

The FTC-PSt3-YAU is a miniaturized chemical optical oxygen sensor integrated in a flow-through cell. A glass tube with an inner diameter of 2 mm is coated with the sensor at its inner wall. The FTC is connected to the oxygen meter with an optical fiber. The volume for liquid inside the FTC is about 100 microliter. The standard flow-through cell can be easily connected via Luer-Lock adapters to external tubings.

Applications

In-line Oxygen Monitoring in 3D Cell Culture

Since oxygen has a low solubility in culture medium it must be supplied to cells within 3D scaffolds via constant perfusion of the medium. The oxygen content of the medium before and after having passed by the cells can then help to determine whether the flow rate applied is sufficient. PreSens flow-through cells with integrated chemical optical sensors can be incorporated in the construct inlet and outlet and allow in-line measurement of oxygen tension.
